The newsletter, Nyhetsbrevet om Färnebofjärden, is published by Västmanland County Administrative Board, which manages the national park. The newsletter is published twice yearly, in Swedish only. It contains news of current events that are in various ways related to the national park.

A large black forest bird which prefers the mysterious haunts of ancient woods above all other habitats. Its springtime mating ritual is a sight to behold. But it can be just as thrilling to encounter a capercaillie on one of the park‘s gravel roads as it fills its craw with stones.
