Regulations

Within the national park, is forbidden to:

Establish facilities for storing supplies and materials, including rubbish. 

Introduce exotic plant or animal species. 

Organize sporting competitions or motor races. 

Break off twigs or branches, cut down, or in any other way damage dead or living trees and shrubs. 

Enter bird sanctuaries in areas coloured red on the park map during the period from 1 January - 15 June every year. 

Set foot on, or approach closer than 100 metres, islands and islets posted with signs to that effect during the period from 1 April - 15 July every year. 

Fish or operate motorboats in the Tiån, Kölforsån and Lillån rivers or in lakes Tisjön and Östasjön. 

Water-ski. 

Set up tents or light fires at other than designated places. 

Gather or dig up plants; however, it is permitted to pick berries and mushrooms. 

Climb nesting trees, gather insects or in any other way intentionally disturb or injure animal life. 

Operate motor vehicles off-road or on ice. 

Ride horses or bicycles on other than designated paths. 

Bring unleashed dogs into the park, except in connection with authorized hunting. 

Operate boats at speeds higher than twelve knots. 

Conduct commercial activities.. 

Swedish Environmental Protection Agency regulations for Färnebofjärden National Park:

Adopted 13 May 1997. Went into effect on 10 September 1998. Based on § 4 of the National Park Ordinance (1987:938), and following consultations with the Västmanland, Gävleborg and Dalarna county administrative boards, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency proclaims the [above] regulations for Färnebofjärden National Park in accordance with the second paragraph of § 5 of the Nature Conservation Act (1964:822).

Exemption from any of the regulations must be sought from the relevant county administration board; a fee is charged for each application.



Pike-Perch
(Stizostedion lucioperca)

A more delectable fish has never seen a frying pan. Pike-perch are found in the deeper waters of Färnebofjärden, and there are plenty of them. But make sure to obtain a fishing licence before setting out with fishing gear.
