Travel tips:
The main entrance to the national park is at Sevedskvarn, just south of Gysinge and Östa Camping. There are outdoor information displays on the national park's natural history at both Gysinge and Östa Camping. At Sevedskvarn, there is also a nature trail accessible to the handicapped, with information placards and wind shelters. Roadsigns from national highway 56 point the way to Sevedskvarn from highway exits both north and south of Gysinge. South of Lake Tärnsjö, there are signs from highway 56 to Östa Camping. The observation tower at Skekarsbo can also be reached via a sideroad from highway 56.

Another popular destination is the site of the Tyttbo Rapids in the western section of the national park.

Elk/Moose

When an elk stands in the water near the shore, dining on the roots of water lilies, one might think that it is some sort of Swedish water buffalo as it splashes about in evident great pleasure. Otherwise, it keeps to the aspen woods; young aspen shoots are among its favourite foods.
